I know you’ve seen these books before. Perhaps you’ve even seen the television show on PBS (but sorry, the books are better). If you’re interested in teaching science to your adorables, these books are invaluable to have at home. Ready to go. And they will sit and pour over them.
They are chock-full of great details of how the science world works. Another favorite aspect is how they work for a variety of ages: my 4 year-old understands them on one level, while a 9 year-old adorable (who may be way too cool for the term “adorable”) would discover a higher level of details and information.
We need more scientists in this world, don’t we?
Lost In The Solar System
One kid said, “This book rocks (asteroids)!” And that made me laugh.
Ms. Frizzle, teacher extraordinaire, challenges students to “take chances, get messy, make mistakes”.
Time of the Dinosaurs
Just like the others, great information and great fun.

You get to visit the inside of Arnold’s body here. Hope he showered first.
Inside A Hurricane
Even learning about hurricanes becomes an adventure.
Inside the Earth
Get ready for a raucous good adventure filled with rocks.
Explores the Senses
I’m a little queasy, but the adorables are enchanted.
Electric Field Trip
The Friz gets us all stuck inside a vacuum in this book.

Inside a Beehive
“Bee of good cheer, class. We’re on our way!”
