I like to take a Mary Poppins approach to parenting. In other words…
In ev’ry job that must be done, There is an element of fun, you find the fun and snap! The job’s a game. Now ev’ry task you undertake, Becomes a piece of cake, A lark! Aspree! It’s very clear to me! That a… Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, The medicine go down-wown, The medicine go down, Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, In a most delightful way!
The makers of Crunch a Color are brilliant and have a Mary Poppins philosophy as well. This was a Christmas gift from sweet Joanne, my sister’s mother in law. And it has my children eating as many healthy foods as they possibly can, even my most pickiest of eaters.
You get points for eating different colored healthy foods, whole grains and proteins AND for having good manners and helping to set the table. Thank you, thank you Crunch a Color.
The best part of it – it is FUN! And it isn’t me coaxing them to try new foods and eating something green, it is initiated by THEM! This game has me singing, try it, you will be signing too. Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down!
