A Happy Home Tour Friday to you!

This home we get to tour today is located in the Berywyn area of Pennsylvania, along the Main Line outside of Philadelphia.

Situated on 12 glorious acres, this home enjoys expansive views of an undisturbed meadow that lies below.

Built for a family of 6, this Arts and Crafts inspired home is a study of details.

And the classic convertible doesn’t hurt either.

As we tour, watch for all the details which are really too numerous to mention: stained glass, woodwork, art – this is a home filled with an artist’s influence and craftsmanship.

In the entryway, the differentiating tilework, the gorgeous stained glass doors, the wood detailing, the painting treatments…

Note to self: love the arched window/church pew seating for a dining room someday.  I’d add a thick cushion just in case anyone needs to nap between courses at Thanksgiving.  Love the tiled ceiling, the stained glass additions in the window (just a little, not too much).  The simplicity of the table and chairs, because anything more would simply distract from all the architectural details.  Something interesting to me: there’s not a stitch of fabric in the room (except perhaps the pews??).   Yet, without fabric, there is so much to study here.  Quite a room.

In the kitchen, I noticed the usual placement of the oven/cooktop in the island has been swapped out for the sink.    I wish there were additional photos of this room so we could get a better look at the details.  I’d love to know what this room connected to.

Love this barrel ceiling and the light fixtures throughout the home.  While I’m more of a traditionalist (and I love white moldings), I just love all that’s incorporated into every room.  I also love how the furnishings take a backseat in this home – in fact they melt into the walls.  What I notice instead is the artistry and the architecture.

These floor-to-ceiling windows are just magical (and I also appreciate the heavy drapes to keep all that sunshine out too).  And a stunning pool out there too.

Have you ever??  I have not.

I have no other words.

Many thanks to Archer & Buchanan Architects of West Chester, PA for this specatular home tour.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
