Run Ruckus

March 21, 2012

Written by Contributing Writer, Sarah Farthing.

I had never heard of Run Ruckus until a friend of mine e-mailed recently with information on how to sign our kids up for an event near us at the end of the month.  I had no idea what all the ruckus was until I saw these images from some of the races!!

Wow! It looks like a messy, adult-sized obstacle course- FUN!!  As I researched I learned that Ruckus Runs are for everyone and that Run Ruckus is the #1 ranked obstacle course under 10K.
From their website:
Who is Ruckus for?

Ruckus events have something for anyone aged 2-72.

Our courses are designed for a wide range of participants and almost 100% of runners finish. Ruckus events are demanding enough for the elite, but achievable for all. It is all about having a unique, rewarding experience, that is as much fun as it is a challenge.

This event was created for those looking for an “Adult Playground” experience that they can’t get anywhere else. There is no time limit and participants are encouraged to run the course at their own pace.

At the end of the day, the course is what the participant chooses to make it, and will provide an unforgettable experience.

RUCKUS MINI

Located directly next to Obstacle Park, the Mini Ruckus is designed for kids of all ages. With our all-new “Teen Course” the Mini Ruckus is perfect for kids aged 2-15. Bring the whole family for this 100% spectator friendly Mini course with mud, climbs and crawls. The course runs throughout the day, there are no wave times, and kid’s can run thru it as many times as they’d like! All Mini-participants receive a medal and shirt.

Oh man, my boys are going to LOVE this! March 31st in Kansas City, I can’t wait to see them tackle the course when we set them loose!

Search www.runruckus.com for an event near you and to read more about the 2 mile, 4 mile and 8 mile races!

This looks like so much fun, and my son and I would love to do it! I wonder if they have something like this in the DC area?
