Click clack moo
A brilliant comedy about life on the farm.

Please Do Not Open This Book
I remember the plain version as a kid; the new pop-up is very fun.

5

Fancy Nancy

Fancy Nancy
I wish Nancy was real and I could see what she was like when she grows up. I think she’d be fun at Girls Night.

6

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs
What would happen if our food fell from the sky? It’s kind of fun to think about.

7

Imogene’s Antlers

Imogene's Antlers
Such a fun story and good make-believe.

8

The True Story of The Three Little Pigs

The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs
Funny, clever, and great for teaching perspective.

9

The Frog Prince Continued

The Frog Prince Contd
Ever wondered what happens after “happily ever after”? A little edgy, but fun in its edginess.

10

Miss Nelson is Missing
This was a favorite of mine as a kid, a consistent favorite with the adorables, and a hit on Amazon.

11

How I Became a Pirate

How I became a pirate
I love the way this book is written. A fun kid to read about.

12

Too Many Toys

Too many toys
Don’t we all have this problem? David Shannon is brilliant and so are his illustrations.

13

Eloise

Eloise
My all-time favorite book and a favorite with my class when I taught. Warning: Eloise is a stinker!

14

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Alexander and the horrible
Alexander is a whiny complainer, but it’s a fun to read about his foibles. Now let’s not be like him, shall we?

We enjoy all the books you have listed! We also love any of the books by Mo Willems (in particular the Pigeon stories). Another favorite laugh-out-loud book of ours is “The Doghouse” by Jan Thomas. Highly recommend!!

I was thinking of doing a Brilliant Author Series on Mo Willems! He’s just releasing a new Knuffle Bunny book.

I was going to say Mo Willems as well and Pirate Pete’s Talk Like a Pirate gets a lot of laughs at our house!

Heidi, I think a “Brilliant Author Series” on Mo Willems is a great idea! He’s got some great stuff out. We’ve just started reading his Elephant and Piggie series. How does he come up with this stuff?

Thanks for the book recommendations. My niece loves to read at night (like most kids), so I’m always looking for fun and funny books for her! PS – I LOVE the Knuffle Bunny books – do the feature!
