Wikki Stix, Welcome to My World

August 31, 2009

If you are between the ages of 2 and 100, you need to check these little darlings out. Never heard of them? Neither had I, until one brilliant mother suggested them for our airplane ride. Since then we have been wikki-fools. I am one grateful mommy to the Wikki-inventors for providing hours of hands-off entertainment for my adorables (even for my littlest adorable who is just 2 – luckily we are over the whole putting everything in our mouth stage).

So take a good look:

Are you still wondering what they are?
They are made of yarn, coated with a wax formula. They are non-toxic and reusable (yes really. I’ll even prove it to you). They also stick to each other and almost any smooth surface with just fingertip pressure, but leave no residue or stickiness on anything. And that makes them beautiful!

Still not believing that they are reusable? I didn’t believe it either, but they can be used over and over and over again.
That ball of Wikki goes to this very easily:

In 2 weeks of solid play we haven’t damaged or rendered any unusable, which is pretty remarkable with 2 adorables under 5.

We found this is the best way to travel with them:

And my adorable whipped this together to show you how they worked:

It’s a spiderweb with real spiders in the middle, in case you were wondering.

Take them to restaurants, on the airplane, to other houses, anywhere. My adorables are young, but I think these would be entertaining for older adorables too. They keep daddies entertained too.

Oh, and if you find yourself with a big ball of Wikki-Stix that needs untangling, just send it on over. I find it therapeutic…

You can find them at Amazon: Wikki Stix

They also can stick to anything, walls countertops, etc. with no residue left behind. Can’t have enough of these!!!

We got these for free at Ted’s Montana Grill one time – I think you just have to ask for them. My kids had a blast! (Actually, I did too!)

I can’t believe Ted’s Montana Grill was giving these out. Such a good idea to keep the kiddos happy. They are awesome! I just bought some for my little guy!

Thanks for your reply! I’ve also heard that P.F. Chang’s gives them out to kids too. Makes me hungry for some lettuce wraps…

Oh me too! I absolutely love Wikki Stix.

A fun game is to make something 3-D with them and have your child guess what you are making. If you give clues while you work, you can make it a learning game. Ex. “It’s an animal, and it starts with an L”.
