Canadian Splendor

August 26, 2011

After I fell in love with Canada this past weekend, I had to go home shopping.

Luckily for the Running Man, it was just pretend.

So here are 5 scattered across the great country of Canada that I’m happy to live in….

Starting in Niagara on the Lake:

Priced at $1.7 million, this is hardly the “cute little cottage” I was planning…

(Canada, more people must have discovered you.  You’ve gotten crazy expensive.)

but it’s adorable interiors screamed, “pick me!!”

There are not enough words for how much I love this room.  It swells my heart.

*Except for the sofa.  I’d go with a wheat yellow.

Completely showed you the home backwards, but I just loved it in that order.

Next, we’re off to…..

HALT!!

Just found a jaw-dropper in Montreal, so I’m just going to show you that one and let you go about your weekend.

….deep breaths, deep breaths….

BAM!

Now if you weren’t already wowed,

Now there are really no words.

Hey designers in the group: this is my perfect architecture, but my favorite decorating is the happy, vibrant colors above.  Any way ideas to mix the two?

By the way, in my dream version of this home, my library is along these upper walls.  But the windows are nice too, for all that light.

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself but to show you this spectacular room from every angle.  Love the hanging boxes on the railing!

There are also other rooms:

This kitchen looks gorgeous, but it could use a little more light.  Love the creamy yellow cabinets.

Moving outside…

Ahhhhhhhhh…

You’ll probably need a gardener,

and, while you’re at it, a pool boy.

That looks like a serious trek to the house for your fruity drinks.

Canada, I love you!

Of course, for $7 million, one would expect perfection.  Read more about “La Closerie” here.

If you jump up and buy this home and move to Montreal, I know a great crepe restaurant in Old Town.  Invite me please!

We had a brief visit to Niagara on the Lake one summer and it is a beautiful town. I loved the homes this week.
