Home Tour Friday is here!

During our roadtrip south, we visited with some great family friends who just completed a beautiful new home outside Bluffton, South Carolina.

And they were super kind and let me take some photos to share with you.

Front

I know, I can just hear you gasping.   Isn’t this home gorgeous?

Here she is from the back.

Back

The daylight was quickly diminishing so we ran outside to see the dock and the water.

This is at low tide.  The tide changes by about 9 feet here…

…so all this grass will be immersed.  From the dock – isn’t this a stunning view?

I wish I could take credit for this next shot, but just so you can appreciate the changing of the tides…

This was taken by the homeowner at high tide.  Dolphins!

I love this outdoor fireplace and sitting area.

When the fireplace was being built…

our friend handpressed these shells into the drying stucco.  I love the pattern.

Moving inside…

I can’t tell you how stunning this green color is in person.  I’m not great at choosing paint and this foyer alone challenged me to rid my home of the builder beige I have going on there.

Here’s another look…

My camera flash muted the green’s vibrancy a bit, but it is a marvelous statement.  Paired with the black and white marble floor, it’s seriously perfect.

Dining room…  My favorite China red.

Library…  The ladder came from the homeowner’s family store.  The green boxes above the television are also antiques from the store.

Living room… I took this from the balcony to show the beautiful 2-story windows and view.

Upstairs, my green appears again, though a slightly different shade.  It’s so vibrant and happy.  Love it paired with the colorful handmade quilts.

Look at the size of these upstairs guest bathrooms.  They are incredible.

Here’s another…

And this one even has room for a little settee in it.

The master bedroom is gorgeous and comfortable.

And I think this is a pretty killer closet!  (It’s just hers; his is across the hall.)

Butler’s pantry…

and surprise!

DSC_0101

An elevator!  The garage is on the lower level, so all the groceries can be carted up in one trip.

DSC_0084

This room is adjacent to the kitchen and the laundry room  – a sink, storage, place for a laptop.  It’s my dream “behind-the-scenes” room.

DSC_0088

This is the family room that is open to the kitchen.  I just love, love, love the red.

And I saved the kitchen for last…

DSC_0090

When they were building this home, they gave the “Something’s Gotta Give” DVD to the architect and told him, “We want that kitchen!”.  And he delivered.

I apologize that this photo does not nearly do the room justice.  This black-granited counter (with the butcher block) is actually a second island!

Isn’t this light fixture amazing?

Many, many thanks to our dear friends for the home tour!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I love so much about this house. And I can especially appreciate the “behind the scenes” room. Every home needs one of those!

This has got to be one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen!

We know the couple who own this home and we were so thrilled to see it! They were just building it the last time we were in Bluffton, so it is such a treat to see it finished and so reflective of their great charm and attention to detail.

You were so close to us! That is such a great example of a lowcountry marsh home! Beautiful!
